10 Out of 10: Rediscovering Esmeris Farm

Whether we admit it or not, living in urbanized areas can be exhausting. The congestion of establishments, residences, traffic, and pedestrians all contribute to various types of pollution, such as air and noise pollution. These factors cause physical and physiological changes in our bodies, leading to stress and depleting our energy.

To recharge and regain our energy, the best remedy isn’t only found in capsules or tablets purchased online or in physical stores. Instead, it lies in the healing power of nature and relaxation.

Occasionally, it’s beneficial to indulge ourselves by going somewhere peaceful and immersing ourselves in nature. One place that comes to mind in Laguna is the “Esmeris Coconut Farm.” with a 10 out of 10 rating adventure from The Wonder Seeker travelers.

Background

Victor Esmeris, a retired OFW with a background in architecture, currently resides in Liliw, Laguna. He transformed his land into a thriving agritourism farm.

Establishing the “Esmeris Nature Farm” in 2018 with support from the local government. Despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, the farm has flourished, offering various activities, food, and beverages.

Originally a simple vegetable farm, it evolved into a popular tourist destination, gaining significant exposure after being featured on the TV show “Unang Hirit.”

The farm continues to innovate, developing new products like coconut wine cocktails and perfumes, while actively seeking to improve the business through continuous learning and collaboration with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Laguna.

The farm has recently changed its name to Esmeris Coconut Farm. Unfortunately, during our visit, I wasn’t able to have an in-depth conversation with the people there to understand the reasons behind the name change.

How do I get to Esmeris Farm?

This is the continuation of our one-day “lakwatsa” that I mentioned in my previous article. After enjoying Yambo Lake, we visited “Esmeris Coconut Farm” before heading home.

From Yambo Lake, we took a tricycle back to the market, where we waited for a jeepney to take us to the Liliw shoe market. My friends bought some shoes there. After that, we took another tricycle to “Esmeris Nature Farm.”

On our way home, we took a tricycle from the farm to the jeepney terminal in Liliw. From there, we caught a jeepney to San Pablo and then transferred to another jeepney heading to Olivarez, Los Baños.

POV (Point of View)

The farm is incredibly peaceful, making it perfect for anyone seeking solitude and time to reflect on life. The scenery is ideal for capturing “awra” photos that are popular with the younger generation.

However, whether you’re taking photos or just enjoying the surroundings, the place is truly wonderful.

It’s suitable for family bonding or a romantic getaway. You can camp or rent a room for an overnight stay. They offer food, so you don’t have to worry about meals, but you can also bring your own, as we did.

If I had the luxury of time, I would love to spend a week there to relax, listen to my body, reflect, and destress. I highly recommend visiting and experiencing it for yourself.
